Main application range of coaxial cable
Jun 13, 2017

Major applications include: equipment support, wiring, closed-circuit television (CCTV), common antenna systems (MATV), and transmission of color or monochrome radio-frequency monitors. These applications do not require selection of precision video coaxial cables with particularly strict electrical tolerances. The characteristic resistance of a video coaxial cable is 75 ohms, and this value is not optional. Physics shows that the optimized attenuation characteristics of video signals occur at 77 ohms. In low power applications, materials and designs determine the optimum impedance of the cable to be 75 ohms.

Standard video coaxial cable has both solid conductor and multi conductor design. It is recommended that several strands of conductors be used in some applications where the cable is to be bent, such as an internal connection between the CCTV camera and the tray and support device, or the transmission cable of the remote camera. Monitoring equipment is also included
